Class Wear and Illustration Costumes

Each student will pay an annual costume fee for the Illustration costume to be worn for performances.

In order to promote an environment of unity, greater focus in class, and to keep our class wear and costuming more sustainable, we have specific class wear for students to wear each week to class, which will create the base of their Illustration costume as well.

Girls in Creative Movement classes


- black short-sleeved leotard

- solid colored pull-on (NOT wrap around) dance skirt, NO TUTUS PLEASE.


- pink or skin tone tights

- Pink or skin tone ballet slippers (we recommend you purchase these through Fusion Dance but you may also purchase your own. We also recommend that you do NOT purchase from Target--the ballet shoes are stiff and make it difficult for the teacher to see how the dancer's feet are working in the shoes.

Girls in Elementary Grades

- Black short-sleeved leotard
- solid color pull-on dance skirt
- pink or skin tone tights

- pink or skin tone ballet slippers (you may purchase through us or provide your own)

Girls in Middle and High School

- Black short-sleeved leotard
- Black long wrap ballet skirt
- solid colored tights
- pink or skin tone ballet shoes

Boys and Men


- black pants or shorts that allow ease of movement

- solid color t-shirt (students are responsible for providing these)

- black ballet slippers (creative movement and ballet) and/or tap shoes (tap)

Women

- black or solid colored leggings, or shorts (of modest length) that allow ease of movement

- solid color t-shirt (students are responsible for providing these) OR modest solid colored leotard

- pink or skin tone tights, and shorts/skirt


- pink or skin tone ballet slippers (ballet) or tap shoes (tap)

ALL TAP STUDENTS


- black, tan, or solid/neutral colored tap shoes, ideally with a full sole bottom (not split sole).

- For children we recommend purchasing tap shoes at Once Upon a Child. Adult sizes are sometimes available at Once Upon a Child as well. Adult tap shoes may also be purchased through Fusion Dance – contact us for more info.

HAIR and SHOES for ALL STUDENTS


- hair must be securely tied back, away from the face so that it does not become a distraction during class or get in the way of movement


- shoes ties must be securely fastened prior to class to eliminate tripping or distractions -No jewelry, please

NOTE – It is OK if your dancewear has not arrived by the first class! Don't worry! 

Please have girls wear
dark pants, shorts, or simple skirt that allow ease of movement and
a solid color t-shirt or short sleeved/long sleeved leotard to class
